How much does S&box server hosting cost in Australia?

S&box servers start at $30.00 AUD a month on the Performance plan. Longer billing cycles carry a discount. The game you install never changes the price.

How much RAM does a S&box server need?

At least 4 GB of RAM and 20 GB of storage, on the performance CPU class or higher. We recommend 8 GB for a smoother experience. Plans below the minimum cannot install S&box.

Where are your S&box servers hosted?

In Australia. Our locations are Sydney and Melbourne. Each location's current availability is shown on the locations page.

Can I switch my S&box server to a different game?

Yes. You buy game server capacity, not a single game. Install another compatible game from the control panel and keep the same plan, location and billing. No new subscription or invoice is created.

What ports does an S&box server use?

You choose them with +port and +net_query_port. We use 27015 for game traffic and 27016 for queries.

How do I choose the game mode on an S&box server?

Pass a package ident to +game, for example +game facepunch.sandbox facepunch.flatgrass to run Sandbox on Flatgrass.

Do I need a game server token for S&box?

A token from Steam, passed with +net_game_server_token, gives your server a persistent identity. It is optional for testing.
