How much RAM does a Minecraft server need?

At least 2 GB of RAM and 10 GB of storage. We recommend 4 GB for a smoother experience. Plans below the minimum cannot install Minecraft.

How do I stop strangers joining my Minecraft server?

Turn on the whitelist with white-list=true in server.properties, then add players with /whitelist add <name>. Only listed players can join.

What port does a Minecraft server use?

Minecraft Java servers listen on TCP port 25565 by default. Your connection details are shown in the control panel once the server is online.
